What On Earth Is Luck

The word “Luck” is a dominant word globally yet many wonder why it’s not traceable in the world most popular sacred book of all time the Bible. One of the earlier means of encountering this word is during ones academy exam, notably at the bottom of the exam paper especially in Ghana. Yet the seemly positive word with global acceptance and recognition is no where to be found in any version of the bible, even the most modenised. This has made many wallow in the Disneyland of why?

Why Luck Is Not In The Bible

Don’t wish people good luck, that’s is not consistent with God. Good luck is not good. Luck is simply anything good or bad occurrence that happens via chance.Take note of the word CHANCE. Whether good luck or bad luck they are both based on chance. Luck is associated with fortune and fate. It’s not based on divine plan.

God is a God of plan and purpose not chance according to the popular scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans and I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Luck originates from Satan. He is the one who deals in chance. He makes people believe that their lives are at the mercy of chance. And so he wants you to think that anything can happen to you at anytime and all is determined by your luck. This is what makes people seek fortunetellers, to have their fortune told. Have you heard of fortune telling ? The practice of predicting information about one’s life. It’s the act of predicting the future or foretelling the future by divination with the use of objects or material mediums like crystal ball, mirror and among others. Just as prophets foretell the future, fortunetellers also foretell the future and so they’re satanic prophets who use divination. They prophesy by evil spirits. Acts 16:16: Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl [16†]possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters [17†]much profit by fortune-telling. That girl made a lot of money for her masters by telling the fortunes of people who consulted her. When you consult a fortuneteller he or she will tell you about your LUCK, your chances in life.

They may tell you that the month of October will be good for you but January will be very bad. That is fortune-telling. They’ll tell you your lucky days, weeks and months. This practice has been there from time immemorial. We read of instances from the Old Testament. Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

1 Samuel 15:22 AMPC. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim(household good luck images). Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.

He said rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft n idolatry and teraphim which was good luck images that were used by people in their homes. There are people today who have good luck images and objects. They are occult objects. Some Christians even wear rings and use perfumes that are believed to attract GOOD LUCK. They are demonic. King Saul had a daughter, Michal, who used these good luck images. And Michal took the teraphim(household good luck image) and laid it in the bed, put a pillow of goats’ hair at its head, and covered it with a bedspread: 1 Samuel 19:13 AMPC. It will shock you to know how dangerous it is to use good luck images. Beware of any oil that a so-called prophet gives to you or anoints you with, for good luck.

If you have ever gone for anointing for good luck you are under satanic influence. There’s a spirit that’s connected to the oil as point of contact.

What To Wish People

In God one is blessed and highly favored - you are NOT LUCKY. Instead of wishing someone good luck wish God graced them.

Luck is based on probability but blessing is based on surety. Something is wrong with this kind of direction: It’s alright if a man of God says you should use it for a particular occasion or a particular day, for a purpose, but if it’s for everyday then it’s a misdirection.

Under the New covenant our faith is Christ Jesus (the word of God) not in material mediums. The new creation in Christ in blessed with irrevocable blessing that accompanies you ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. This is the revelation that king David had, even though he lived under the Old Covenant.

This is what he meant in Psalm 23 the last part[5/3, 11:01 AM] : When he said “ goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE….”

Not some of the days, but all the days of my life. Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever-Psalms 23:6 NKJV. How can you think of good luck when goodness and mercy are chasing you everyday. Ephesians 1:3 : [1†]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. If you were born on Sunday do not think that Sundays are your days, that mentality and belief will rob you of God’s blessing ordained to follow you the other days of the week.

The Effect Of Being Lucky

Every day is our day, and every week is our week, and every month as well. In one of the meetings of Pastor Chris of Christ Embassy, a young boy was brought to the platform by his mother to testify of healing and spirits casting. Then the man of God asked of the name of the young boy and the mother said “ Lucky “. Immediately Pastor Chris was led by the Holy Spirit to change the name to John. That was the right way to maintain the liberation from the oppression of demons. If you’re name or nickname is LUCKY, you ought to change that name before the worse happens. There’s even a Ghanaian gospel music that has that expression of “ way3 lucky”(you’re lucky) by Mama Esther. I feel uncomfortable listening to that part because it’s wrong. Do not use vocabulary that is not consistent with the word of God. If you believe in good luck it makes you think that anything can happen to you by chance and that positions you to accept anything good or bad that may come your way. That opens the doorway for Satan’s plans for you.

Conclusion

 If you think you passed your exams because of good luck then get ready, the next interview or job may end in abject failure by bad luck.
