The funniest Trotro experience 😊
Trotro is the most popular means of transportation in Ghana. Wednesdays has not been that harsh for me - exam has a way of amplifying the anomaly. Facing a running and aching stomach upset that would not bow for the efficacy of the popular Colodium - getting me to be quite late for my final exam paper. Sweating profusely like a nab Mr. mouse before master hungry Cat after a long-hunt chase. Jumped into one of the trotro vehicles (commercial car) at Ghana Dubai street(Kwame Nkrumah circle, Accra) bus station heading to Nuguaa(a suburb of Accra) after alighting from Kasoa trotro.

The ecstasy started like this: immediately, I jumped to the immediate last seat of the front passenger seat to the entrance; one Mr. fair guy signaled to me that, the seat between him and one Miss fair damsel which they very look alike and seem to be traveling together is not to be occupied; without given any reason to that effect. Quickly, settled down from my confused signaled greeting and grabbed my two mobile devices (iPhone and Android phone) and started glancing through my exam e-study material with internet research support. Soon before I realized, there was no room in the trotro. The quite aged driver cracked the engine and got it started for the journey. With my eyes balls still fixed on my important, after barely a meter journey away from our start point. The mate(conductor) exclaimed: “yessss front” let me have your fare. One my aunty aged look alike lady behind my seat confronted: “isn’t too early to demand for money”?. The sassily dress driver quickly rebutted: “even from Circle to Kumasi you pay before boarding”, majority of the passengers busted into laughter getting my attention to follow suit. A lady from the second seat behind me said: eeeiii driver, you are even a dude than your mate. Driver replied: hope I'm not telling lies. Some nodded in agreement. Quickly, the atmosphere in the car got my attention and I drifted from my panic glance. Some couple of meters on after a negotiated curve which seem unusual from the normal route.
It was as if the driver wanted to show us something - sighting a fleet of luxurious cars only on sale in an open garage; he elatedly beckoned to his mate and said: my Bentley is still awaiting my daily savings (susu). Laughter once more resounded behind as comment also followed: your susu will take a decade to fit, I entreat you go for regular salon car. Eeii madam! We also deserve luxury wai(okay), he replied. Further, sassy fairly aged driver asked the conductor: are you not buy one? Before the bra(brother) mate could respond, one carried away lady of the car's atmosphere, seated just in front next to the driver of the 'day' interrupted: “I will buy one for him”. The seemly unnoticed comment got a follow up by bra mate: 'master', I'm waiting to buy from you. My notion was cleared from the unusual signaled from Mr. Fair when the car stopped for his friend to jumped in after thinking they literally paid to observe social distance in the trotro; making me putting on my face mask out of gilt of not being able to fulfil the most popular COVID-19 protocol.
At this juncture, the spirit of forgetfulness stole my panic away replacing it with calm nerves. All to soon, I got to my destination earlier than anticipated. I then got down to face my exam with a brighter mood.
